What color is he?

Ivy Walker says that she is able to see both her father and Lucius Hunt because they "give off the tiniest color."

What color do you suppose is connected to Lucius? Why?

What color do you suppose is connected to Edward? Why?

How are Lucius Hunt and Edward Walker similar, since they are the only ones that Ivy mentions as having color?

I think that the color Ivy sees around Lucius would probably be a dark blue. This might symbolize that he is very troubled and darkened by people dying and the state of the town. Also, I think that Edward has more of a greenish tint to him because he is trying to keep an optimistic atitude about the town and yet is weary about the unknown. I think that Lucius and Edward are similar because they both want what is best for the town and want ultimate peace and prosperity.

The reason Ivy sees color in Lucius and Edward but not in any-one else is maybe because like her they are different. Ivy is blind and Edward is awkward and seems to be a little crazy, while Lucius is more troubled and curious about the forbbiden woods then anyone else. This is not unlike the crucible where the odd people in the villiage were still holding on to tradition and trying to be good but were ultimatly accused of witch craft. I think that Ivy would see purple on Lucius because i think that color represents worry and care for others, and also a calm presence. For Edward i think she sees an orange color because it is a cheerfull color and he is cheerfull because he is oblivious to the danger of the woods.

Ivy seems to have heightened senses to make up for her lack of physical sight, even though it appears she has better insight into things than some of the townspeople who can see. The colors Ivy can "see"/sense around Lucius and Edward are part of this insight. I imagine her seeing Lucius surrounded by dark purple or navy blue, for he is a mysterious individual who is thoughtful and curious. Lucius seems to internalize what happens around him and acts upon what he internalizes. The dark purple/navy blue would symbolize how he internalizes things as well as his quiet, thoughtful personality that many interpret as mysterious. Edward may be surrounded by yellow for he seems to have a calmer personality. He listens to people and they seem to get along with him. As KaseyB said, both Lucius and Edward want what’s best for the town and those who live within it. In addition, they care about Ivy and have her best interests in mind. They are both selfless people who play important roles in Ivy's life, so they stand out to her.

I think that Ivy sees the color red partly because red symbolizes romance, and she loves him so she is sort of seeing what she wants to see. I also picked red for Lucius because he is sometimes the one who causes the red to appear like when he traveled into the forest and upset the "creatures". Also, red reminds me of bravery. A lot of super heros have red clothing like Spiderman or Superman. To me, Edward is yellow because he seems very positive even in the worst situations, like when the creatures entered the house, he was giggly and smiley the whole time! He is always positive and playful. Lucius and Edward are similar in that they both don't know what they are messing with and how dangerous these creatures are. By Edward picking the red berries, he thinks it's okay, which is bad because the color draws the creatures toward the village. Lucius thinks that if he is seen as innocent, he will not be harmed by the creatures, which i do not believe is true. I think he will still be harmed. If it were true, the creatures would not have come into the village, they would have no reason to.

I think the color that Ivy sees's when looking at Lucius Hunt is the color gold. The reason why the color gold is that he has always been valuable to her and the other way around. They have a special connection and when he is around her he gives off this wormth that everything is going to be okay and that no matter what, he will always be there for her. This shows when she is waiting for him at the door and holding her hand out even though the man in the red cloak is heading towards the house. I do not know excatly know what color that Edward Hunt would represent because we have not really been able to get to know him. I think the reason why that Ivy only mentions those two people having a faint color when approching her is because these are two men in her life that are important to her and always have been with her through the thick and thin.

Oops sorry, delete the comments about Edward, I thought Edward was the brother. So Edward is the FATHER, gotcha...
OK...

So I think Edward is navy because he seems protective over the village and his daughters. But there is also a sense of courage about him. Perhaps because it's a dad thing. However there isn't much that we know about him. So the navy also represents mystery.

Ivy sees Lucius as a red color I think. I think she sees him as red because he is not like the rest of the people in the town so he could be considered different, like the things in the woods. Also red is the color of love and she loves him. I think Ivy sees Edward as a yellow because yellow is the color of safety in the town, and Edward provides safety to the rest of the townspeople. Edward and Lucius are similar because they are the two people that have always been there for Ivy. They both have strengths in their own ways too. Lucius has the strength of courage and Edward has the strength of leadership.

When Ivy Walker mentions that she is able to see a color when she is around Lucius and Edward, I think it's because both of these people are a major apart of her life. I think the color red would come into mind when thinking about Lucius. Ivy mentioned that she always use to love when Lucius would hold her by the arm and guide her around the town. She even went as far as intentionally tripping so Lucius would pick her up. She wanted Lucius to be more then just a friend, perhaps some sort of a relationship. Red also signifies the bravery and fear inside Lucius. Although Lucius has a strong heart to walk into the forest in order to find what is out there, the red ferns seem to stop him from going forward. It's kind of like a stop sign that has been put right in front of his face.

The color that comes to mind when I think of Edward is blue. Blue seems to be a healing and protective color. Edward wants to protect his family, and give them the best life he possibly can.

I think that the color that Ivy thinks Lucius is, is the color orange. This is because she says that "he will come back and make sure we are ok." Through this i see him as a bright character in the story. Lucius is a shadow character, but yet he is the one person that everyone knows will be there for them. I think that Edward is the color blue. He is different from everyone but yet has a side that you know is trustworthy. Edward is the type of person that will only do something because he doesn't know it is not bad. Lucius and Edwars are similar in the way that they are kind of both looked down on, but still loved in the town. Ivy says that they are the only ones that have color which I think means that they have a colorful personality, and are more emotional then the townspeople who are just black, or gray.

I can see where Kasey is coming from and agree but also I think that the color Ivy sees around Lucius Hunt could be a color that is light because he is so admirable to her. For example when the bad thing was coming to town she stood in the door way with her hand out waiting for him for she knew he would come to make sure they were safe. To me that means that she has a relationship with him in which she depends on him and knows him well, therefore I think his color would be a positive, comforting color. I think that Edward has a color similar to Lucius's because their characters and relationship with Ivy is similar, it is an accepting bond that is comfort. They are both her safety blankets because of their qualities. Their similar qualities include their positive attudes, their want of change, and their acceptance of reality and curiousness of the unknown. Thus I would say their colors would be white because it is a safe color that goes well with all but is individual for it has few relations with the other colors. Lucius may be more of an off white for he has attributes that set him apart from Edward in the sense that he knows whats going on and is more involved.

When Ivy claimed to "see" color, it was when Lucius and Edward were in her presence. I think this maybe because they are a significant in her life and in certain ways she can relate to them. I think the color she would see around Lucius would be a dark, bold color such as a dark, royalish blue. Blue seemse to be a more quiet color as he is and might show curioustity in his individual. I think Edward might be a purply red color as he just goes with what happens and always looks for the good in situations. Kind of as Kasey said, he is trying to be optimistic in his attitude. I think they are both willing to be there to make the best of situations in the town and care about Ivy and whats best for her.

Seeing as she is blind, Ivy Walker's perceptions of color are much different than our own. In her usually dark spectrum of sight she sees 'the tiniest color' given off by her father Edward Walker as well as Lucius Hunt. I imagine that the color she sees representing Lucius is a dark ocean blue. In crisis situations he is always smoothly calm (like waves), shielding her from the outside world's dangers. As the movie portrays, Lucius is also a very mysterious figure. Like the depths of the sea, we know not what lies within Lucius Hunt's mind and character, only that he has an obvious connection with Ivy. Like Julia said, it is hard to know what color Edward might be represented by since we haven't had a chance to see much of him (yet) in the movie. For some reason he stands out to me as being green. From what I can tell Edward is a very strong, value-based person who seems to cling to his roots but is also very calm and understanding, much like Lucius. A very natural person, it seems, which may explain the green. Lucius Hunt and Edward Walker are similar since both are calm and understanding, and each have an honest acceptance and appreciation of Ivy. Lucius obviously values his time with her and, as Ivy revealed, used to hold her hand to provide her with stability. She can trust him to be there for her; when the red-cloaked things came, he was there to grasp hold of her outstretched palm and save them both. Edward appears to accept his daughter and love her too, and his honest leadership may be a quality that draws Ivy to him (like Lucius).

Ivy is a unique, blind girl who seems to be very strong and courageous. Even though she is blind, I think the reason why Edward and Lucius "give off the tiniest color" to her is because they're also unique in their own ways, especially to her. I can imagine Ivy seeing a dark brown tint to Edward, which would symbolize a comforting and dependable personality. This color would seem to suit Edward well because he is a man who cares about his family and the other townspeople. On the other hand, I picture Lucius with a purple tint to him through Ivy's eyes due to his perplexity and calming personality, while still being imaginative and aware of his surroundings. Edward and Lucius give off colors to Ivy because both of them are significant people in her life and she appears to care about them a lot. Also, they play important roles in her life that have changed her in some type of way. Edward has proven to be a strong man in her life who has accepted her and helped her throughout good and bad times. Lucius has also been there for her to help her throughout her life and I think she sees him as a stable shoulder to lean on. I believe that due to these similarities between Edward and Lucius, along with their expressive roles in her life, they are the only people who give off a color to Ivy.

I think that the reason Ivy sees the tiniest bit of color in her father and Lucius because they are both protective men who obviously care about her. I thnk that the color she sees for Lucius is probably a lighter blue. Blue is said to cause safe and serene feelings. She obviously feels very secure when he comes to make sure she is okay and when he takes her hand to guide her. I think the color her father gives off is probably a dark blue. Again, he protects her which makes her feel calm and secure, however, he the dark color shows that he is somewhat overprotective and a little overbearing. They give off the same color, but of different shades because she cares about them in different ways and they care about and protect her in different ways.

I think the color Ivy sees for Lucius is a green because green is a safe, calm, mellow, and kind of a quite color. This fits Lucius great because he is a quite person that really cares about the town and Ivy. This is evident because he is willing to risk his life to cross the forbidden border to get medicine for his town and he was also willing to risk his life to save Ivy's from the monsters. The color Ivy sees for Edward is probably more of a blue because blue is a safe, protective, and a comforting color. This is a good color for Edward because he is the father of Ivy and is therefore protective over her and he watches over her constantly. He is also very caring and protective over the town and seems to have almost a fatherly figure over it. I think the reason Ivy can only see Edward and Lucius' colors is because they are the two people in the town that care for her and watch over her the most. I believe Ivy knows this because she told Lucius that sometimes people don't do the things that they want to do most because they are scared of what other people will think and she knows how much he really cares for her.

I think the color that Ivy sees's when looking at Lucius is a light gold. The reason being is that he has always been so admirable, and able to relate to her. I feel Ivy knows that she can trust Lucius, and can depend on him, no matter what.

The color Ivy may see when looking at Edward could possibly be orange, because it signifies courage or bravery, and also protection.

They are similar because they both are working for the common good of the village, and both take care of Ivy.

I believe a shady color, like gray, best represents Lucious. Lucious is a curious man with many questions. Although Lucious has a curious personality, he also seems to be a confused individual. His time and energy is spent focused on the alien invading his village, but love has now entered in to his life. A darker color, like navy blue, most represents Edward Walker because he has a strong personality, and is protective of his children. Although Walker is a protective man, he is a caring and down-to-earth father. Lucious and Edward are similar people because they are both broad-minded people. They are both alike, but each person in the movie could be represented with a color, Ivy just has not taken the time to recognize that because Lucius and Edward are important to her.

Ithink that the color that ivy sees in both people is the dreaded color of red! i think this because the town considers red as a dark color but as we saw it seens that lucius is not affraid of the forest and the creature. i think she sees red in her father because she finds him brave and a lot alike lucuis. I think that lucius or maby even Edward might have something to do with the scary forest and that is why she sees red in both!

I think that the color that ivy see's is the forbiden color because he was the one that was seen by there fake monster in the woods and he is like the only person in the entire town thats not scared of the monster

Ivy sees Luscious as they color of blue. There is a coldness about Lusciouis that will not open up to her. Luscious will not tell ivy how he is is feeling but Ivy is so open with him, and does not understand what is troubling him. Blue also represents Luscious because of his bravery. Blue is a color that represents a boy and boys are usually fearless. Luscious is not afarid of those of which we do not speak of, so blue is the most fit color for him.

Edward, on the other hand, invented the myth of those of which we do not speak of. Therefore, red is the color that best fits him because he invented the evilness of red.

Ivy sees color in both Edward and Luscious because they are both hiding something from her. Luscious is hiding his love for her and his fear of harm coming upon her. Edward is hiding the myth of the village that prevents people from going into the towns. The color is something Ivy does not know and secretive. Even though Ivy cannot see she is able to look deeper into a person than anyone else of the village.

I believe that a red is connected with Lucius because he has a warm personality to those he loves and cares deeply for the safety of his village. Lucius shows his care by asking permission from the elders to go through the forest to the town in order to fetch medicine. He is not afraid of showing what is in his heart and shows his true color when he goes to pick the red flowers from the bush. He even showed bravery by taking responsibility for his actions of going into the forest.

Edward, on the other hand, is a neon orange. He has a bold personality and is able to control the with ethos and logos statements. Once he allowed Ivy to go through the forest, he tells the elders that Ivy and Lucius were the only way that the children of the town could keep their innocence. If Lucius died, his death would not only cause the sorrow of the village, but Ivy would waste away with him and the innocence of the town would eventually shatter. Orange is also a warm color, as he shows with his love of the town and his daughter Ivy.

Lucius and Edward both share the same love for Ivy, no matter the consequences. They also share their love or the village and continue to help make the village prosper. They make decisions that they think will aid the town the greatest at the given moment and time.

Ivy see's color in lucius and Edward because they are both important men in her life. In Lucious i would gues she see's the color yellow for him. I would say yellow because in the town, yellow is a safe heaven for the town folk, much like Lucius is for Ivy. When she sticks out her hand she knows she can trust him to be there. the towns people feel safe under the color of yellow, and Ivy feels safe when she is with Lucius.
For her father i belive she may being seeing a dark bold color for him. like dark blue. This color shows admirbility. something you can look at and know it is going to hold strong for you no matter what. and something you love and will always cherrich.

The color i think that Ivy sees around Lucius is red because he seems to be a calming yet has a sense of passion and love for her. This is because he decides that she can go through the forest to retrieve the medicine she needs. And he is not afraid to step up to the elders and tell them what needs to be done. I think Edward is a warm green because he is cheerful and and bold at the same time. He protects his children and is not afraid to do whats right for everybody. Edward and Lucius are similar because they both love Ivy to death and that alone can do great things but also they show respect to the town so that it will prosper and continue to flourish under the circumstances.

I believe that Lucius is connected to the color blue because he seems to believe that there is a world outside of this bubble he is living in, known as the village. To me blue seems to be a true color, it is a bold and strong color, that does not fade easily.Lucius is a strong character in this movie and will stand up for what he believes is right no matter what others think.

Edward to me seems to be orange. Orange is close to the color red, which is the evil color in the movie the village. This fits him because he is the cause of the village in the first place and the creature it self. He is not red because in his heart Edward's intentions were truly good. He wanted to create a perfect place but has still failed to realize that perfect does not exist which is why Edward is orange.

They both want what is best for Ivy and whats best for the village they just see it differently. Also Ivy trusts and loves them both very much and thats why they seem to be connected to each other.
